Sunset Silhouettes with the iPhone 6 Plus
Living on a tropical island, sunsets are taken for granted. We all notice them, but seldom take the time to stop and enjoy them. The other day I decided I was due for a little sunset therapy, so I drove over to Araha Beach in Chatan. Even though, as always my trusty Fuji x100s was in my bag, I reached for my iPhone 6 Plus. Sometimes it's just more fun to challenge myself and use my iPhone.
There are almost always people walking or running at Araha, so as I sat there waiting for the sun to set I decided to shoot some street style shots of the people passing by. I used burst mode to try and freeze them, especially with the runners and people on bikes. This shot below was one of my favorites while it was still fairly bright outside.
Soon the light started to shift, so I switched to capturing silhouettes which I always love doing anyway. I continued to use burst mode and ended up with what I think are a couple decent shots below.
After having fun with the silhouettes, I walked down to the shore and took a series of shots just before the sun slipped behind the clouds on the horizon.
Here's a video as well. I got down as low as I could hoping to catch the sounds of the waves, and to give the viewer a more personal view.
As I was leaving I notice these two girls still enjoying the remaining colors in the sky, so I took a couple more of them. Note the higher ISO of 200. I forgot to set my ISO at it's lowest of 32, and as a result this shot has more noise. It happens.
