Okinawa Life via Narrative Clip
For those who know me or follow my blog, you know that I've recently become obsessed with a little wearable camera called Narrative Clip. While I'm not suggesting you can replace your iPhone or point and shoot, it does make a great accessory to whatever camera(s) you already use. I have no affiliation with the company, I just really love the idea and the product. You can read my full review here. Note: All of the photos from this post are from my Narrative Clip.
Friday I decided, completely unplanned, to drive north and hike up to Hiji Falls in Kunigami prefecture. If you know me, you know that hiking is not my thing, but it was a beautiful day here in Okinawa and beautiful weather makes me happy enough to go hiking apparently. So, me and my happy self jumped in the car and drove north, stopping along the way at Nago Beach. I was expecting rougher waters with a typhoon rolling in, but the beach was really nice.
I wore my Narrative Clip on the side of my hat for the drive up, occasionally switching sides to capture different scenes. You can see the clip on me in the rearview mirror below. Changing where you wear the Narrative Clip really helps mix up the shots you capture from it and in turn can make your photos more interesting.
Be sure you take plenty of water for each person, especially if you're hiking in the summer. There are vending machines at the entrance, but after that you're on your own. I went through a bottle going up and another coming down, but I needed more.
Finally, after 40 long minutes, I arrived at the falls. It was a little smaller than I had imagined it would be but still nice. If you're into hiking then I'm sure you will enjoy Hiji, but if you are like me and prefer the urban jungle then maybe it's a pass.
