Happy Friday everyone. According to an article in the Ryukyu Shimpo, the first rice planting of the season has begun in Yaeyama. Reading the article made me think of this photo I took a couple years back with my Fuji X-Pro1 of a rice farmer near Onna, Okinawa working in his rice paddies. Thanks for stopping by today.
Photo of the Day - Ikei Island Port
Ikei Island is a small island a short distance from the mail island of Okinawa. Unlike the main island, Ikei is still mostly undeveloped and is very popular with divers and sunbathers. On a recent drive there I saw this small fishing port and stopped to take a couple photos. The brightly colored buildings are what caught my eye, but I really loved the whole scene. Thanks for stopping by today.

Photo of the Day - Festival Food Vendors
A food vendor at a local festival cooks Takoyaki (dumplings with a chunk of octopus inside). This shot was taken with my Fuji X-Pro1 and the 56mm f/1.2 (85mm equivalent), an awesome low light lens.
Photo of the Day - City Beaches
Today's photo was taken with my iPhone 6s Plus at Naminoue Beach in Naha, Okinawa. It's strange to me to see a beach right in the city with a highway running over it. Thanks for stopping by today.
