ShootLighter has always been about lighter, mobile-friendly photography. Sometimes my beloved Fuji x100 series camera is the star of the show, and sometimes it’s my iPhone or DXOOne connected camera. Apple has been promoting #ShotOniPhone for a few years now since the introduction of the iPhone 6, so I thought I would start a weekly “Shot on iPhone” series, a recap of my favorite iPhone photos from that week, or recently.
I thought I would kick this series off appropriately with a few sunrise shots. I wake early each morning, around 4:15 am. Part of my morning routine is spending a few moments outside with my coffee watching the sunrise. No two sunrises are ever quite the same, and I never tire of them. This first one is from last Monday, October 1st.
This next image was taken September 24, 2018. That morning the skies were an amazing red, but when I took the shot the iPhone X actually toned down the colors. I edited the image to what I saw. I’ve included the original unedited below as well for reference.
Last but not least is the sunrise from this morning. Note how clear the moon is in the shot. Wide angles make the moon look very tiny, but I still like it in the photo. Sunrise was around 6:20 am this morning. This photo was taken at 6:00 am. No edit.
