Denver with the iPhone X

Denver with the iPhone X

This past April I went to Denver for the annual #GSMCON Government Social Media Conference. Normally, I would always travel with my Fuji x100F, but this time I decided to only take my iPhone X and leave behind my beloved x100F. I was looking for a way to travel lighter and with my shiny new iPhone X only a few months old still, it seemed like a good idea.

YouTube Channel Update - What I'm Working On.

It's been a couple weeks since my last video and I've been busy with many different projects I'm working on. I'm testing a new connected camera from DXO called the DXO One, a camera that promises professional quality photos without giving up your smartphone connectivity.

Shooting a Fashion Show with an iPhone 6s Plus

Shooting a Fashion Show with an iPhone 6s Plus

Drove up to Onna on Friday afternoon to watch the fashion show from the Yashida Roberto OkinawaMade and Lequio AW Collection. My daughter was one of the models in the show. Although I took my Fuji x100t with me, I ended up only using my iPhone 6s Plus. The lighting was amazing(considering I was shooting into the cloud-covered sunset). Here's a couple slo-mo videos and a photo from the event that I took with my iPhone 6s Plus. Enjoy.

Creating a How to Food Video using an iPhone 6s Plus

Creating a How to Food Video using an iPhone 6s Plus

A friend and co-worker recently gave me some red potatoes that she had purchased at the farmers market here in Okinawa. We both like to cook and frequently talk about cooking. As a thank you to her for the potatoes I decided to make a video on what I cooked with them. It then occurred to me that this would be a good "how to" video on shooting cooking videos with your iPhone. So if your interested in that, or just want to see what I cooked check out the video below and please subscribe to my channel if you like it.

Surfing and The iPhone Cinematographer

Surfing and The iPhone Cinematographer

Photographer and cinematographer Sven Dreesbach recently worked on two surf video projects that show the possibilities of mobile cinematography. Sven created one, "Dark Waves" for a music video project for Robot Koch , and the other, "This Moment" as a pretty cool slo-mo video. Both were shot on an iPhone 6.

Good morning and Happy Sunday everyone in Okinawa. This weeks video about the Setsubun Festival at Naminoue Shrine is up and live on Youtube. In order for me to have my own channel name on YouTube, "ShootLighterTV", I need at least 100 subscribers. Please help me out and  subscribe to see more of my videos, and help me reach this first channel goal. Hope everyone has a great day, and I hope you enjoy the video.

Awesome Skiing Video Shot on an iPhone 6

Awesome Skiing Video Shot on an iPhone 6

I've seen a lot of amazing photos and videos shot with iPhones. Swiss Professional Skier Nicolas Vulgnier however, recently shot a 360 degree video of himself skiing with his iPhone that simply blew me away. I'm still trying to figure out how someone can spin their iPhone around their head, connected to a string while they are skiing down a mountain. I'm not blessed with any degree of coordination, so even skiing down the mountain would be an accomplishment for me, so the idea of spinning my iPhone around me at the same time is simply crazy to me.
