Drove up to Onna on Friday afternoon to watch the fashion show from the Yashida Roberto OkinawaMade and Lequio AW Collection. My daughter was one of the models in the show. Although I took my Fuji x100t with me, I ended up only using my iPhone 6s Plus. The lighting was amazing(considering I was shooting into the cloud-covered sunset). Here's a couple slo-mo videos and a photo from the event that I took with my iPhone 6s Plus. Enjoy.
Key Features Added to Lightroom Mobile
Adobe just released an update to Lightroom Mobile enabling full resolution output and added some 3D Touch features. The ability to export out full resolution files finally allows photographers to work independently of a Mac or PC. Before you could edit your photos but you could only export out up to 2048 pixels on the longest side, and then you had to then switch over to a Mac or PC to export out the high resolution files. To say it was a pain would be an understatement for sure.
Photo of the Day - Okinawa Dance
This is a shot I took a while back with my Fuji X-Pro1 and 56mm f/1.2 lens of a traditional Okinawan dancer performance. Shot at f/1.2 it shows the really nice bokeh the Fuji 56mm delivers. I love the Fuji colors too.
Creating a How to Food Video using an iPhone 6s Plus
A friend and co-worker recently gave me some red potatoes that she had purchased at the farmers market here in Okinawa. We both like to cook and frequently talk about cooking. As a thank you to her for the potatoes I decided to make a video on what I cooked with them. It then occurred to me that this would be a good "how to" video on shooting cooking videos with your iPhone. So if your interested in that, or just want to see what I cooked check out the video below and please subscribe to my channel if you like it.
Bon Appétit Magazine Shoots March Issue with an iPhone.

They are increasingly more amazing at shooting our day-to-day for our social media feeds, but they are also being used more and more by professional photographers as another creative tool on their belts. Bon Appétit magazine recently challenged four photographers to shoot their March 2016 issue with only iPhones. Check out the link below to the story on Bon Appétit's official blog where they ask the photographers their thoughts.
Photo of the Day - Sunset in Chatan, Okinawa
Sunsets are one of those things you never tire of living here in Okinawa. This is a shot I took a while ago with my iPhone 6 Plus. Have a great day everyone.
How to One-Light, High-Key Lighting Setup
In this article from Petapixel.com UK based photographer, Jake Hicks demonstrates an easy way to achieve a one-light high-key lighting setup using a simple reflector. Although limited to closeups and tight headshot this is a great way to achieve the high-key lighting look. Shoot lighter and still achieve great results.
Photo of the Day - Streets of Tokyo
I took this shot with my iPhone 6 Plus while in Shinjuku, Tokyo last year as part of my Streets of Tokyo series. I used burst mode as I was walking to freeze the guy walking toward me. I love the shadows in this scene and how they make his mask stand out in the image.
